"For Your Information" is an anagram of "fairy fruit moroon."
Moroon is totally a word. It's "moron" + "baboon." Look it up. Get your own damn substack.
CLARIFICATION: As stated below, THE EVENT IS VIRTUAL BUT RUNNING LIVE. ANYONE CAN ATTEND FROM ANYWHERE. IT IS VIRTUAL.
Just wanted to further procrastinate the aforementioned more-substantial essay to share something that I think will be of great interest to a lot of folks here.
(Disclaimer: I do NOT receive any money/consideration for this and am not personally associated with anyone involved)
On September 12-15, the School of Traditional Skills is hosting the FREE Traditional Skills Summit.
I found out about this on Joel Salatin’s blog (for those that don’t know, Salatin is a libertarian regenerative farmer heavily involved in ag education especially for homesteaders and farmsteaders). Salatin is one of roughly a dozen instructors.
This is a 4-day online course with hours of live classes in each day, with student participation/Q&A. The videos of all the classes will (apparently) be available after the event, so don’t worry too much about having 4 days completely free to attend every single class in real time.
As you can probably guess, this is a marketing campaign for School of Traditional Skills to roll out its online learning platform/MOOC, which will not be free, focused specifically on farming/livestock/sustainable agriculture/ag production with an explicit focus on farmsteads, homesteads, and small-scale farming. The recordings of the Summit will be available in perpetuity for people who sign up for the premium classes.
I will absolutely be participating and will probably be throwing the platform my cash as soon as it rolls out a broader curriculum.
This seems like a great opportunity for a lot of us who are interested in these topics either as a practical or purely theoretical (or for future plans) interest.
Never let it be said I didn’t do anything for you people that wasn’t sarcastic or scatological.
