I'm sorry we're not responding. In college, I learned not to respond to poetry lest I offend the poet or the experts on that poet or my classmates. My reaction was surely wrong.
I quit my major. I wanted to have my own reactions, my own opinion. It wasn't tolerated.
Thanks a lot. There are already so many valuable substacks out there adding real value to our community that I don't want to try to do the same thing. I want to focus on community engagement/ conversation and variety- bringing in a wider range of connected ideas and content.
As paid subs build up I will develop more regular content. I like having a stable of feature types to offer broader appeal.
I love the poem. Thank you.

Do share more as you write it.
I don't mind one way or the other. I figured it was bad.
Ah, please don't figure that.
Your English experience sounds really unpleasant, which is a deep shame.
I've got nothing but good memories of my English classes, but it wasn't my major, even though I ended up teaching it a lifetime later.
I probably enjoy teaching and explaining poetry more than writing it myself. That one was just a piece of unfinished business.

I hope you continue to enjoy.
