I've noticed that whenever the government or corporate media uses the passive tense in their propaganda, it's usually because they don't want to say who actually did the thing to whom, or to go into any detail whatsoever regarding the circumstances.
I made a similar observation about a year ago about politicians around the Anglosphere who, when talking about their draconian COVID measures or support for the draconian COVID measures of the lizard sitting on their head, would seem to scrupulously refer to COVID as 'this thing'- "We've got to get on top of this thing... we're going to beat this thing... we all want this thing to end." It was such a weirdly persistent avoidance of saying "COVID" or "pandemic" or "virus." I mused at the internal dissembling that must have been going on.
Or they're just not committing to ending it when this -current- thing is no longer a good excuse. They're keeping the soundbites generic? That way it's a more seamless transition to the -next- this thing.
I have (at last?) discovered the joys of .45 LC, one of an array of "weirdo calibers" I attempted to strictly avoid fearing availability and high prices. Turns out it's really no worse than my bigger rifle rounds and widely available as it's quite popular, and expanded my options for a lever-action (as I promised myself I would keep no more than 4 different calibers in the collection, and .45 LC would put me at the ceiling.
I've been shooting rifles so much longer than pistols, thanks to NYC gun laws, and actually just got my first pistol last year after moving. It's been a learning curve. But they're growing on me, especially the sense of security that comes with concealed carry.
I'll stay awake, but I probably won't write until I've had at least some sleep, because it WILL be garbage. I'm not in college anymore, where it barely mattered as long as I hit a page limit.
Haven't set up Strikeman laser targeting system yet? However I made sure to purchase both a cartridge for my Browning Hi-power and .223. I might should have also obtained for my 30car... but.. I figured I'd get what was the most prevalent with the family.
I look fwd to not paying for ammo to train, even if it doesn't train to the sound and kick.
These days I've been focusing on getting very comfortable with the new pistols which means I need to learn their handling profile. Other than that I'm mostly practicing with my precision rifle where I need to care about ballistic drop.
A few years ago, pre-lockdowns, I took an intensive course that ended landing a 1025y shot and I very much want to get back to hitting that consistently. So I'm not shooting in huge volume anymore.
He really, really appreciates it too, so I consider it very much a marriage of peers. I'm weird and very challenging the majority of the time; I am not an easy long-term relationship. My pool for life partners was never gonna be huge.
I was damned lucky myself, and I make sure to tell him so. The fact that he still looks like a Swedish model (albeit with a slightly dad bod) in his mid 40s doesn't hurt either.
Dammit, woman!! You sound like a younger me( there's reasons I own my own dojang ), minus the smoking , add a Tauran love of a sense-good things ( most of all food). My pool of suitable men is extremely small- made no better by the fact that I'm tolerant of! but a non-Christian. It's apparently a turn off to be accepting of the Godforce...but not of The God ( pick one).
Husband mouth have any like minded older brothers who want to live in warmer climes?
I'll have to check that out, thanks. Yesterday, one of my new Walker's ear buds slipped out unknowingly and I developed tinnitus which, thankfully, now passed. I am sticking with the muffs from now on.
Even though shelves are now well-stocked compared to the last 2 years, a way to practice without burning through ammo is welcome.
I also like the idea of practicing inside my dojang...or frankly Anywhere I can set a stand. Close -quarters draw drills ... over the ridge rifle ... its all good.
I already have mild tinnitus, probably from hating to shove earplugs in my ears in the nuke plants...
Looking at Guttermouths response: as a dude:Do you think it would be totally discriminatory if I considered any potential male mate in my life to have to be able to be masculine, capable to defend himself and me....and be unjabbificated? There should be a 'stack about such questions ...
I mean... I guess it might be asking too much as I'm no prize 🤣🤣
If that part isn't essential to giving my opinion, I don't think ANY mate requirements require ANY justification from ANYone, for ANY reason. It's your responsibility to not set such a narrow set of criteria that you end up dying alone, but the criteria you choose are sovereign and inviolable.
The progressive notion of being morally obliged to be attracted to identities you aren't actually attracted to kind of horrifies me.
I think it's great that women are into guns. I have encouraged every woman in my family to buy some. Free people own guns. Slaves don't. It's that simple.
Naomi Wolf wrote a great article on her substack in early June on her about-face with regards to guns/2A. You should check it out, if you haven't yet.
No, at bare minimum you should expect to be with a man who will stand up for himself and his family.
Yeah, I'd say that's a bare minimum regardless of any other values. A guy without that isn't really worth a damn, at least to a family. He's still a boy.
Surely a deep fake wouldn't be That f'ing creepy intentionally??? I mean...you'd do something about his eyes and keep the hair...
I need to check if my hastily made subscription to Alex Berenson has run out yet- I haven't clicked on that egotistical bastard for we over 6 months...I should move my scrip over to the one page that doesn't care if I drop the F bomb...
How much melatonin are you taking at night, and do you have any and all light sources set to non- blue lights after say... 9pm ? Or wear blue blockers?
I learned, the hard way, that melatonin will convert to serotonin in the presence of " daylight" years ago...
I've someone close willing to sell me Blue Fox(?) Rabbirs which have amazing pelts and excellent meat apparently...but I worry about feeding them as I live in the woods ...forage no Bueno...
I've been doing melatonin 20mg. Anything stronger and I stay foggy after I wake up, and I can't take it every night or I habituate very quickly.
Blue lights are probably part of the problem, as is nicotine withdrawal. A very unhappy brain is absolutely in the mix- my bedtime music is typically "Your life's greatest shames and failures in HD" by The Cerebral Cortex.
Oh gosh...nicotine withdrawal will certainly do that! I get myzzy headed over 5 mg. Then again...I'm also weaning down my gabapentin, which I only now take at night so the neuropathy doesn't keep me awake.
Oh wow...I too have that Playlist in my hardrive! The track that seems to be glitching on replay lately is " Why are you so gruff with your beloved dog, who has dementia, at 3am?! You know better and you're to blame for her neurotic tendencies anyhow!!"
I prefer Tibetan singing bowls with gentle rain in the background. I have always needed total darkness and background noise. This comes from 40 years of working in industrial test labs with 85-100 db of blower noise. When my environment is to quite, I can still hear the blower noise in my head. The blower noise was actually quite pleasing at the time and made it quite easy to doze off. It was just to loud. My hearing however is actually quite good for 75 year old ears. I also take 10 mg of melatonin. But, there are those nights when my noisy CPU will just not go into "sleep" mode.
My pup now gets about 5, while I get about 4 ( I crack a 3 and try to split it begore crushing hers into her nightly " Nighty Night melatonin and cbd-n " fare.
Some folks have experienced a paradoxical effect (on sleep) if they take too much melatonin. It could actually be interfering with your sleep. Did you work up to the dose to optimize it? Just a thought. Personally, I only take 5mg a night, but that's just me. I know a lot of folks who are happiest with much higher doses.
Some years ago, I tried a special immediate and XR release melatonin (it had a small capsule of melatonin nested inside a larger capsule with melatonin, sort of a mechanical timed release.) For some reason, I woke up with bizarre nightmares just before dawn each time I tried it. I just take regular capsules now.
My neighbor has chickens. He also has dogs to guard the cattle and horses. When he gets a new dog he has a method of dealing with it if the dog kills one of his chickens. He ties the chicken around the dogs neck for a couple of days. The dog does not kill anymore chickens.
This method of hanging the chicken around the neck - unequivocally did not work for us. The dog was more than happy to have constant access to a tasty snack. It actually seemed to have an opposite effect ie. a reward for killing my birds! Dog couldn’t eat the feet while they were rotting around his neck. But he proceeded to do so as soon as we let those half rotted feet drop to the ground. Dog then continued to develop his taste for fresh kill. :/
I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve never tried it personally. It was my neighbor’s solution. He likes to impress, so maybe he’s telling a fib or he was lucky.
Well, here’s an old wives’ tale that I know is true because it happened to me. When I was around 4 or 5!my great uncle rubbed a huge wart off my knee. He told me he would rub it away and it would be gone. So he rubbed it a bit every day and I watched it get smaller and smaller every day until one morning it was gone. I have no explanation except that my mind tricked my body into healing because I absolutely believed him.
Just another learning opportunity among many. :) A lot of people suggest it, obviously so since we tried it. Though we never tried it again, so I don’t know if we were just singularly unlucky! I think it’s the same as with absolutely everything else in this world, what works for some, does not for others. Which I think is a necessary thing for the continuity of life.
“Don’t Shed on Me” T was broken in at recent extended-family gathering. A couple relatives chuckled and made complimentary remarks. Most ignored it and a few stared in stony silence - either reading and/or processing. Caught hell from immediate family, unfortunately. I’ll call that a success.
when I was young and fully rural, we had meat rabbits. I don't remember the breed.
they were awesome. quiet, easy maintenance, waste could be used as fertilizer without having to cure it like chickens, and oh man did they taste good. comparable to or better than farm chicken.
we successfully substituted rabbit in any and all chicken recipes.
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't eaten rabbit since I spent a summer doing slingshot hunting as a kid, but I remember really liking it.
I loved reading about Dog #3, my #1 Dog died this week and I am having a hell of a time with it…I’d put up with just about any kind of pissing right about now
"Who was killed, Joe?"
I've noticed that whenever the government or corporate media uses the passive tense in their propaganda, it's usually because they don't want to say who actually did the thing to whom, or to go into any detail whatsoever regarding the circumstances.
You mean like the apparently driverless SUV than ran over a bunch of white people last year?

Grind it out, Guttermouth. Train your body for the future multi-day firefights against Klaus' army of Orcs.
I love the anniversary revolver. Last year I got Cimarron's "Man With No Name" in .38 Special. Fun! Still, at heart, I am a rifle man.

Sadly no, he has an older sister who detests the rest of the family and more or less shuns us, which is fine with me.
All joking aside, I really, REALLY wish you the best in your hunt. Everyone should have someone that wants someone. Love is awesome.
And I don't smoke anymore, BTW, so there's that.
I'll have to check that out, thanks. Yesterday, one of my new Walker's ear buds slipped out unknowingly and I developed tinnitus which, thankfully, now passed. I am sticking with the muffs from now on.

thats a huge dose, i have 10mg tabs and i split them in half, this is still strong
Yeah, Fathermouth left them here when he moved back home. We've both been insomniacs my whole life. Like I said, I can't take them too often.
My pup now gets about 5, while I get about 4 ( I crack a 3 and try to split it begore crushing hers into her nightly " Nighty Night melatonin and cbd-n " fare.

Oh, wow, I am 1000% doing that if she kills another bird. Thank you so much!
You’re welcome.
I have heard of this. The thing is...*I* don't want to be around a decomposing chicken either...
Lol

sounds like doggo 3 is having a wonderful time!
Yeah, she's an asshole. If she wasn't a feral rescue I'd be a lot less understanding. But I'm given to understand huskies are all assholes generally.
they have their moments, i know a husky malamute mix thats very well trained but i think they are a bit smarter and calmer than pure huskies
This was pretty much me until about age 19, so I guess I'm grateful nobody shot me and buried me in the backyard.

Awesome. I'd call that a success on all counts. Brothermouth will be pleased.
I'm thinking you now know who to cull from your life experience ... immediate or not.
And?? You now know you have allies...
yay Gutterfolk!!
yes right! although while the immediate instance was not unexpected, it was still disappointing
Out of corn dogs 🤣🤣
on the topic of meat rabbits:
when I was young and fully rural, we had meat rabbits. I don't remember the breed.

Ashwaganda can help with getting to sleep in my experience. I used to use it until finally I got so relaxed I became too lazy to make it.
I loved reading about Dog #3, my #1 Dog died this week and I am having a hell of a time with it…I’d put up with just about any kind of pissing right about now
After all the destruction I'd be processing the dog first lol
