Well, I commend thee. Like one day from "so we gotta resist on the ground, ourselves?" to the proto-genesis of the general fund. You got some real get-up-and-go in you, fer shure.
One general statement on any and all sources of assistance: People rarely value what they get for free. We had to start charging monthly fees (extremely minimal) for the women's center so they'd take the program seriously.
A good deal of assistance might come in the form of mutual exchanges of service, i.e. a single mother needing transportation assistance to get her kid out of the school mandating vax might not need much else, and might be able to reciprocate in related ways. Or people who need the dying car fixed so they can do the extra mileage, etc. etc.
I agree strongly, as I think recent statements I've made have substantiated.
In this instance, I'm sidestepping that issue somewhat by focusing strictly on a legal fund rather than a "general need for resisters fund" as I think it will be more cut-and-dry and easier to vet. Ideally, I'd have at least a few lawyers on hand to at the very least offer advice on "this is a good case to throw money at because it will establish good precedent/is a strong case/gives me an erection" for incoming petitions.
The stuff you're describing in your last paragraph I think needs to be handled interpersonally, and I'll start thinking about setting up a "Craigslist"-type forum for people to matchmake on needs rather than get into the very thorny matter of collecting money for broad dispensation of charity.
Three feet high pumpkin, as in the actual fruit? Can't grow them at all here, unless in a heated greenhouse and even then you're lucky to get a pumpkin a foot across.
Middle-men are important to the economy.
Yes, it hurts to admit it but they are - we measure economy in money created* (not printed but created via business) and as the middle-men causes more money to be spent and can show profit from being middle-men, more money as in more economy is created which makes it look like the economy is growing which is good, apparently.
So if all middle-men were removed the monetarily measured economy would shrink.
*No, I'm not writing a thesis paper explaining all the ways this is wrong, correct, depends on and so on. Before economy was measured as it is today, there were other problems which went away when the West became a monetary economy, and we got ouselves a different set of problems - such as increase in perceived monetary worth of a stock means it sells for more money (money is created) without the business actually producing or selling more product or service.
And what happens when money (which lack intrinsic value) is created without it being due to an increase in actual production and sales of real goods and services?
Yup. That's right.
The departed mr Pratchett has a wonderful little riff on the stock market in his book "Feet of Clay" where scrofulous investors speculate in the pork futures' market - due to the magical nature of the Discworld, the potentially slaughtered hogs can be observed as ghostly shapes in the slaughterhouse and thus future pork can be traded as shares for lots of money by those wealthy enough to opt-in, while no pork ever appears on the plate with those too poor to do so.
Your hog sowing his seeds and that photo made me think of ghosts - all that's needed is Max von Sydow in a black overcoat.
I thought that metal thing was for your knee before I read the text.
Wow, incredible insights being acted upon here lately, lady!
From labor saving doothingies, to actual ideal construction on the parallel...well...everything.
I'm not sure what a MOOC is? but I'm pretty damned impressed about a speech that got you 15% more recognition of your talent. That's frikkin amazeballs!
I wait for your post-event exposure of what this surprise ended up being. I hope you are delighted in a way that makes you warm for days. ☺️
The US is pushing the jabs onto kids while the EU appears (appears!) to be going in the opposite direction just as the fraud, obvious to anyone paying attention, is just starting to be officially acknowledged.
Germany is holding fast to the bullshit, but yes, in general, I think the US and Germany will be the last nations on Earth with vaccine and mask mandates for covid.
I hope the fraud continues to unravel and gets litigious.
I would literally die to see justice around the world for these maggots.
Well it looks to be going in the direction of Pfizer defrauding, well, everyone. I have no doubt that is true but also politicians will try and use it to forgive their own reprehensible behaviour.
Back in the 80s I decided to save legal fees on selling our house & buying one, by doing it myself. In the UK you always put a deposit down and complete the transaction later.
THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS AT ALL.
So I didn’t.
And when we arrived at the vendor’s lawyer’s office to complete the purchase he made us pay the deposit. And a few minutes later, the rest of the money.
As we say, from where I originate, he really saw his arse. And that’s all he had. His clients were pissed at him too, for being such a dick.

... and, of course, you know perfectly well it was because you gave me a shove.
I try my best with new friends to keep the snottiness to the least possible level that won't make me actually implode.

Yes I think you've basically already got all the bases covered.
Thank you!! Starting my day with vision of your 🎃 boar is gonna make my day💕💕. Do you have video?? Please say yes
Unfortunately I do not have video of that specific incident. If it happens again this year, I will make certain we have a phone handy.
Night, night. Sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite. 😴
What I was told every night by my Mom, as a small child. Also my Grandma and Aunt Betty when they were around, or I was at their house.

I told my farming friend about that gadget you found. He likes it! I bet he's gonna hook that up.
Brothermouth and I timed it. It is literally 5 minutes or less vs. about 15 with t-post clips and pliers.
No sharp edges when you're done, either.

Super column. Thanks. Glad to hear of all your good news.
