For the past two years, I feel like I have been sitting on a bench alone watching the craziest of things unfold and looking furiously to my left, then my right to see who else is seeing what I'm seeing. And most of the time I get nuthin'. We're just not at the tipping point yet, though some of us can see it from where we sit, plain as day.
It's frustrating for those of us with sufficient perception to SEE it, but we have to acknowledge that doesn't mean it's HERE yet.
We're definitely feeling the pinch of inflation in our household, but the truth is, we can probably hold out for a year or so at this rate. (After that, we're pretty screwed.)

Well, no official word on that, but I can't help but notice that Dr. Yeadon has been in Florida for quite some time now, and that Gov DeSantis is just about the only politician speaking out forcefully about what's been going on. He has even quoted "the armor of God" passage from Ephesians that Renee (above) finds so powerful. I have hope.

Sweden: 11 000 000 citizens. 450 000 hunters, registered. About 50 000 Home Guard on stand-by (meaning they have their gear, including fully automatic AK-5s, at home), with several hundred thousand retirees. Average number of weapons per hunter is 4-5. There's no limit to how much ammo you may stock up on, nor any tracking of it. If you have registered a demolition or construction company, you can then buy explosives including timers and blasting caps fully legal. Again, no tracking of how much of it is actually used up.
Also, due to the EU's "open borders and free passage" rules, old East Block surplus is plenty and cheap, as are illegal handguns. Even a teenaged arab scum peddling dope has no problem scoring a hand-me-down Glock for maybe $200. An "AKA-47"? Maybe $1 000. You make the very common (american?) mistake to equal no 2nd amendment with the attendant arms retail (which we really should have) with there being no access to guns. It's the opposite: with only legal owners being in the system, the number of illegal guns may well be higher than the number of legal ones. Caveat: pulling the numbers from memory as rough "guesstimates", haven't been in the know properly for some time, but this I can say for sure: gun ownership is at an all time high.
And Sweden has nothing on some nations when it comes to access to weapons.
Not disputing you point about the US but about us being unarmed. Which isn't true - the difference is I can't walk in the store and by a nice gun, say a Webley or 1911 without jumping thorugh umpty-eleven hoops first.

Europe is going to get very squirrelly this winter. A friend in London yesterday reported that his gas bill for next month is running at 13X the unit cost same month 2021. He can cover it, but my retired sister in the south of England cannot. Obviously I don’t know anything, but my hunch is, Phase I (COVID) is all but over & Phase II is controlled demolition of everything that makes modern life normal, starting with stripping people of their assets under the guise of power bills.

Lol...Elsewhere on this thread I just finished posting a piece on DeSantis and then scrolling down ran into this. The Florida Surgeon General, Joseph Ladapo, is well informed and keeping Florida health (masking, mandates, gender transitions, you name it) as patient-centered and government-avoiding as is possible. Florida is one bright spot in a sea of gloom. But a couple other governors, and some of the ones up for election this November are cut from the same cloth -- fingers are crossed.
I feel that most of our leaders (both blue and red), the Ted Cruz's and Lindsy Grahams are so obsessed with keeping their position that they don't care anyway. Tweets and sound bits to the ill-informed so to retain their office. Career politicians for both power and money.
I'm sick of it...and them. That place needs to be rebuilt.
Give me a media leader that stands up beyond the camera or microphone.

I am far from a politician. And they are all people and thus flawed, but I think Ron DeSantis represents as close to the desired characteristics as we are going to see. Smart, willing to spit in the eye of those who are wrong, not afraid to move forward when everyone is telling him to be afraid -- and has real results to back things up.
And as a former Marine, he actually seems to have a commitment to duty and to country far in excess of commitment to himself or personal aggrandizement.
There are others in the wings or coming...DeSantis is just the most "out there" of them. But he did things that no other (putative) Republican would do for fear of the DC machine. To me that speaks volumes. It is no surprise that he is accumulating a following. The people in his state (I am one of them) love him -- there is a reason for that.
If he can do that in Florida, he may be able to do it more broadly. He has a deep understanding of what is broken it appears -- the question is whether the Deep State will not take him out beforehand.

I actually had the opportunity to talk to him briefly in person. Seemed very genuine and actually took the time to have a short, but meaningful discussion about stopping the muzzling of our children.

Either way, the problem with Trump is that people have made him into a hero who they think will save them. I don’t think he can really. Your government failed to uphold the principles of the American Revolution a long time ago. And they’ve been clever to worsen education so much that hardly any young people seem to understand the Revolution, what it took and what it meant. I think I, an Australian of British heritage in my 30s know more about your history than many of your young people do if internet polls are anything to go by, lol. I think we need to start taking back the youth by teaching people why the founding of America was so revolutionary (first country for the people, by the people, no nobility that had more rights than any other man etc). And teaching them why freedom of speech is actually really important, why freedom in general is (because it seems to have become a dirty word).

As the other side becomes more desperate, the actions they take become more exaggerated and extreme (and usually absurd). When they miss, it's very obvious to everyone, and usually hilarious. But when they hit, that's when it really hurts. They're going all in, Nothing or Double, No Horseshit, Jack. We are not going to emerge unscathed.
I would just like to add that the American Revolution also had a) some great thought leaders who not only put out pamphlets that got the farmers worked up and supporting their cause, but also b) went to other countries to get support. France supported them financially, India revolted at the same time to draw some of the British troops away. That’s just a couple of examples. So things require a bit more organisation and leadership that is currently being offered for Revolution to happen. We do have some great medical leaders, but I’m not sure they would lead a Revolution.

Yes true, we’ve got a lot of great thought leaders and commentators but they aren’t doing a lot of organising right now, at least of the Revolutionary kind (as far as I’m aware). Not trying to say it can’t be done again, but that people need to think big for that sort of thing to happen. Seems to be more likely to happen in other countries at the present moment!!
The idea of a town square being a physical location where residents can meet up to talk, discuss and plan things together was usurped by the digital town square, along with the sheer numbers of us and the size of our communities. The church, which for centuries was a gathering place to link up in a community has faltered badly in the current timeline. Actual faithful churches are hard to find, and personally for us right now, we haven’t been able to yet reestablish ourselves in one close enough to be practical.
We have to find a way back for local meetups and face to face interactions so we may build those connections with like minded citizens.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the virtual exchange of ideas. Reddit, the chans, Twitter and now Substack have all played a huge part in my own personal awakening journey. I’m very thankful for the opportunities these different platforms provided, and for “meeting” so many amazing and smart people who value truth and freedom. It’s been an actual lifeline to sanity and a sense of community that I’ve badly needed. But my spirit has been crying out for awhile now that we must make physical these bridges between us. And I see in comments and articles that this is growing in the hearts and minds of others too. This will be the way forward, I’m certain of that. But how to begin is what stymies me. Maybe I go knocking door to door in my neighborhood? Or is taking a grey man approach wiser? Still need to find my tribe.
We relocated to a new state right before COVID hit, and I no longer have a tribe of friends (who didn’t necessarily think as I did but we all did love and support each other). There is most of my immediate family here, and son #2 is at least 2/3rds of the way to seeing reality. His spouse maybe 1/3rd. Other family who are aware at about the same level is still back in our old home state. And #1 son and family who’s also here is sadly still lost in the fog of delusion. No friends made at all in my new local zone. That’s been a very tough nut to crack.
So where do I and we go from here? Any thoughts as to the meat and potatoes of making this growing yearning which is a necessity to our future are very welcome. And thanks for letting me share.
Yeah, this stuff doesn't really count, and the fact that we've been told that it does, that humans can live on the thin gruel of virtual interaction, is a big part of why we're so sick in our bodies, minds, and souls.
I was doing work and research on this before COVID. The shit show of lockdowns and Zoom and the gaslighting that Zoom was great and this is real life just made it 1000x worse.
I expect suicides to continue climbing for years, even after they decide COVID is "over" and the red light-green light of mandates is finally politically dead.
And yeah, I share your personal experience. Lost all my friends, can't really connect to anyone here beyond friendly casual chat. My community are great neighbors, but it's clear no one really needs new connections, and my family aren't churchgoers.

Yes, US. We have gas heat. Last year I had it set at 65°F, I think that's a below 20°C and had a hard time affording the bill. Mostly sat under blankets on the bed all day, every day to stay sorta warm. 3 dogs helped. 😊
I’m hoping against hope for number 3 to come through, although it’s the most unlikely.
I’ve been asking myself how to get number 2 from the great in theory idea to practical for over a year now. I’ve seen a recent video of people in France who have started implementing their own decentralized parallel society, which seems like a very necessary step for what lies ahead, whether if the futures is worse than I think or better. Also planning a few peaceful means for myself. Violence may well come, but I personally think we must not be the ones to kick that off.
Number one is already personally the reality for myself and my hubby. Barely leave the house as it is. No fun discretionary spending. Making do is a way of life. We fully anticipate the uncomfortable factor to get much worse personally and as a whole for all regular people worldwide.
Prepared as best we can, but I don’t know how long they’ll attempt to grind us all down by amping that uncomfortable factor up. But we plan on making it past the the worse part and surviving into it will get better stage. Although I agree, we are losing what this country once was no matter what happens. It will not all be bad, but it will be very different and I mourn the actual death of my past ahead of time. Best to get that over with now.

And local tyrannosaurus bossy pants, who is obligated by law to uphold the Constitution and not destroy it, is now personally liable and may be sued under title 42 USC 1983.
Use the laws we've got, and the Constitution which must take precedence over them in a court of law to put the assholes on notice to back off.

Well, no official word on that, but I can't help but notice that Dr. Yeadon has been in Florida for quite some time now, and that Gov DeSantis is just about the only politician speaking out forcefully about what's been going on. He has even quoted "the armor of God" passage from Ephesians that Renee (above) finds so powerful. I have hope.
I feel that much injustice and suffering awaits in the years ahead, but I remain confident that we will eventually win. I hope I'm around to see it!

Sweden: 11 000 000 citizens. 450 000 hunters, registered. About 50 000 Home Guard on stand-by (meaning they have their gear, including fully automatic AK-5s, at home), with several hundred thousand retirees. Average number of weapons per hunter is 4-5. There's no limit to how much ammo you may stock up on, nor any tracking of it. If you have registered a demolition or construction company, you can then buy explosives including timers and blasting caps fully legal. Again, no tracking of how much of it is actually used up.
Also, due to the EU's "open borders and free passage" rules, old East Block surplus is plenty and cheap, as are illegal handguns. You make the very common (american?) mistake to equal no 2nd amendment with the attendant arms retail (which we really should have) with there being no access to guns. It's the opposite: with only legal owners being in the system, the number of illegal guns may well be higher than the number of legal ones. Caveat: pulling the numbers from memory as rough "guesstimates", haven't been in the know properly for some time, but this I can say for sure: gun ownership is at an all time high.

Not disputing you point about the US but about us being unarmed. Which isn't true - the difference is I can't walk in the store and by a nice gun, say a Webley or 1911 without jumping thorugh umpty-eleven hoops first.

Europe is going to get very squirrelly this winter. A friend in London yesterday reported that his gas bill for next month is running at 13X the unit cost same month 2021. He can cover it, but my retired sister in the south of England cannot. Obviously I don’t know anything, but my hunch is, Phase I (COVID) is all but over & Phase II is controlled demolition of everything that makes modern life normal, starting with stripping people of their assets under the guise of power bills.
Whether they’ll cut the mains electricity in UK remains to be seen, but in Germany it’s nailed on. Yet there is no resistance.

The Florida Surgeon General, Joseph Ladapo, is well informed and keeping Florida health (masking, mandates, gender transitions, you name it) as patient-centered and government-avoiding as is possible. Florida is one bright spot in a sea of gloom. But a couple other governors, and some of the ones up for election this November are cut from the same cloth -- fingers are crossed.

I am far from a politician. And they are all people and thus flawed, but I think Ron DeSantis represents as close to the desired characteristics as we are going to see. Smart, willing to spit in the eye of those who are wrong, not afraid to move forward when everyone is telling him to be afraid -- and has real results to back things up.
And as a former Marine, he actually seems to have a commitment to duty and to country far in excess of commitment to himself or personal aggrandizement.
There are others in the wings or coming...DeSantis is just the most "out there" of them. But he did things that no other (putative) Republican would do for fear of the DC machine. To me that speaks volumes. It is no surprise that he is accumulating a following. The people in his state (I am one of them) love him -- there is a reason for that.
If he can do that in Florida, he may be able to do it more broadly. He has a deep understanding of what is broken it appears -- the question is whether the Deep State will not take him out beforehand.

I actually had the opportunity to talk to him briefly in person. Seemed very genuine and actually took the time to have a short, but meaningful discussion about stopping the muzzling of our children.

Afraid, or more likely just completely full of shit (just in it for themselves). Probably a bit of both. Certainly for the ones who’ve been in their seat for decades, the job is just theatre. It’s like WWE wrestling. Things like the January 6 trials are largely just for show to raise money, Republicans do similar (though not to that extent). They say politics is Hollywood for ugly people, and I think they are right.
Even with Trump you can’t really be sure he’s not controlled opposition. I can’t decide on that. Either way, the problem with Trump is that people have made him into a hero who they think will save them. I don’t think he can really. People need to stop waiting for someone to come and save them, and organise to save themselves.

Your government failed to uphold the principles of the American Revolution a long time ago. And they’ve been clever to worsen education so much that hardly any young people seem to understand the Revolution, what it took and what it meant. I think I, an Australian of British heritage in my 30s know more about your history than many of your young people do if internet polls are anything to go by, lol. I think we need to start taking back the youth by teaching people why the founding of America was so revolutionary (first country for the people, by the people, no nobility that had more rights than any other man etc). And teaching them why freedom of speech is actually really important, why freedom in general is (because it seems to have become a dirty word).

I would just like to add that the American Revolution also had a) some great thought leaders who not only put out pamphlets that got the farmers worked up and supporting their cause, but also b) went to other countries to get support. France supported them financially, India revolted at the same time to draw some of the British troops away. That’s just a couple of examples. So things require a bit more organisation and leadership that is currently being offered for Revolution to happen. We do have some great medical leaders, but I’m not sure they would lead a Revolution.

Yes true, we’ve got a lot of great thought leaders and commentators but they aren’t doing a lot of organising right now, at least of the Revolutionary kind (as far as I’m aware). Not trying to say it can’t be done again, but that people need to think big for that sort of thing to happen. Seems to be more likely to happen in other countries at the present moment!!
The idea of a town square being a physical location where residents can meet up to talk, discuss and plan things together was usurped by the digital town square, along with the sheer numbers of us and the size of our communities. The church, which for centuries was a gathering place to link up in a community has faltered badly in the current timeline. Actual faithful churches are hard to find, and personally for us right now, we haven’t been able to yet reestablish ourselves in one close enough to be practical.
We have to find a way back for local meetups and face to face interactions so we may build those connections with like minded citizens.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the virtual exchange of ideas. Reddit, the chans, Twitter and now Substack have all played a huge part in my own personal awakening journey. I’m very thankful for the opportunities these different platforms provided, and for “meeting” so many amazing and smart people who value truth and freedom. It’s been an actual lifeline to sanity and a sense of community that I’ve badly needed. But my spirit has been crying out for awhile now that we must make physical these bridges between us. And I see in comments and articles that this is growing in the hearts and minds of others too. This will be the way forward, I’m certain of that. But how to begin is what stymies me. Maybe I go knocking door to door in my neighborhood? Or is taking a grey man approach wiser? Still need to find my tribe.
We relocated to a new state right before COVID hit, and I no longer have a tribe of friends (who didn’t necessarily think as I did but we all did love and support each other). There is most of my immediate family here, and son #2 is at least 2/3rds of the way to seeing reality. His spouse maybe 1/3rd. Other family who are aware at about the same level is still back in our old home state. And #1 son and family who’s also here is sadly still lost in the fog of delusion. No friends made at all in my new local zone. That’s been a very tough nut to crack.
So where do I and we go from here? Any thoughts as to the meat and potatoes of making this growing yearning which is a necessity to our future are very welcome. And thanks for letting me share.
Yeah, this stuff doesn't really count, and the fact that we've been told that it does, that humans can live on the thin gruel of virtual interaction, is a big part of why we're so sick in our bodies, minds, and souls.
I was doing work and research on this before COVID. The shit show of lockdowns and Zoom and the gaslighting that Zoom was great and this is real life just made it 1000x worse.
I expect suicides to continue climbing for years, even after they decide COVID is "over" and the red light-green light of mandates is finally politically dead.
And yeah, I share your personal experience. Lost all my friends, can't really connect to anyone here beyond friendly casual chat. My community are great neighbors, but it's clear no one really needs new connections, and my family aren't churchgoers.
It sucks. I never thought I would run out of real-life friends this early in life. Not me. Whiny anxious "introvert" social phobic millennials with phones for brains. Not me.

Yes, US. We have gas heat. Last year I had it set at 65°F, I think that's a below 20°C and had a hard time affording the bill. Mostly sat under blankets on the bed all day, every day to stay sorta warm. 3 dogs helped. 😊

I’ve been asking myself how to get number 2 from the great in theory idea to practical for over a year now. I’ve seen a recent video of people in France who have started implementing their own decentralized parallel society, which seems like a very necessary step for what lies ahead, whether if the futures is worse than I think or better. Also planning a few peaceful means for myself. Violence may well come, but I personally think we must not be the ones to kick that off.
Number one is already personally the reality for myself and my hubby. Barely leave the house as it is. No fun discretionary spending. Making do is a way of life. We fully anticipate the uncomfortable factor to get much worse personally and as a whole for all regular people worldwide.
Prepared as best we can, but I don’t know how long they’ll attempt to grind us all down by amping that uncomfortable factor up. But we plan on making it past the the worse part and surviving into it will get better stage. Although I agree, we are losing what this country once was no matter what happens. It will not all be bad, but it will be very different and I mourn the actual death of my past ahead of time. Best to get that over with now.

In March 2020, as I watched blue-state and blue-city lockdowns from the safety of rural Texas, I was stunned that people didn't take to the streets. It makes more sense to after reading this.

I'm late to this post, but it was great, as were all the comments. Much appreciation. Thanks for framing the discussion for us the way you did, it was useful and resonated with me. I know for myself, personally, I would like to be able to DO something before #1 MORE PAIN FOR MORE PEOPLE happens, but the number of ideas out there is just, well, a lot. And who wants to be like all those gun control advocates shouting "just DO something, do anything!" Blegh. We want to do what will work, and that might NOT be 'anything.'
And I agree that it is going to be local, and in person, how we move forward. This (substack) is great and your newsletter and others' inspire me and I learn with each read, often laugh, too, but.

This was a departure for me and I intend to do more in this vein in the coming months- less broadly philosophical, more salient.
Conversation is hugely important as we move into this phase of general social red-pilling.
