Pictured here: Some fucking flowers and shit.
Welcome back, ladies and germs.
The septic system issue on Mouth Farms has been stabilized until it can be repaired hopefully early next month. The change in weather helped enormously as the entire property has stopped literally floating away every afternoon.
A flaw in the way we hung our pasture fences (we’re fixing it) has led to almost daily breakouts of several thousand pounds of beef wandering very far away and we have almost daily dealt with concerned neighbors and motorists showing up at our door and coyly asking if we’ve seen our cattle recently. Our immediate community absolutely loves our farm (people have begun stopping on the road to go to the fence and check out our stock) and are thrilled that this very old property is being used for agriculture again after many decades while being kept beautiful, so they’ve been extremely tolerant of “your cute black cows standing outside my window.”
This has been not only a great lesson in better fencing, but also in wrangling, as well as public health policy (free tip, biofascists everywhere!): coercion and force don’t work when the thing is bigger than you. Being patient and showing people/cows the benefits of going in a particular direction will, if your idea is a good one, lead to them doing the right thing. I know if someone shoved my head in a bucket of sweet potatoes, I’d follow them wherever, at least until I’d finished the sweet potatoes and wanted to actually look up and see where I was going.
Fathermouth finally has a date for his surgery, towards the end of this month. It will be a much less invasive procedure than was originally planned by the hospital in NY in which he spent 2 months of hell. The inpatient recovery will also be quite short. He’s incredibly excited to be nearly done and will probably want to head home at the end of next month. I’m glad he got to see things around here in warm weather so he could enjoy this place while it’s truly beautiful and the animals are at their happiest and the farm work is at its most fun. He has basically depleted the local library’s supply of spy novels, so the timing is good.
A lot of substacks we likely have in common have been reporting and driving some activism around the WHO’s current opening bid to be the one-world government promised in Biblical end times. I’m going to reproduce/expand on a comment I made on one of them because I realized too late that I stole content from myself, tee hee. I’m going to advance a position here that may piss a lot of you off because it isn’t sufficiently catastrophizing; hopefully, the people it DOESN’T piss off will gain a little peace of mind.
I was initially understandably quite upset by the gall of the WHO, which I think has nicely demonstrated not only its complete incompetence as an advisory body but its complete corruption at the hands of its most generous member entities like the Department For Pet and Uighyur Disposal and the Flight Simulator For Windows 95 support team who still owes me a service ticket. WHO knew (see what I did there?!?!?!) that if you give an entity whose sole job it is to broadcast messages that people who don’t want to make their own decisions will follow enormous amounts of money, they’ll make those messages whatever you want? Seriously, who knew?
My initial train of thought ran a lot like yours, which was, “Who the fuck do these people think they are unilaterally deciding that sovereign governments will all surrender their governance of their people to you to do whatever you want to their citizens whenever you decide that something you choose to call a pandemic is happening, and these citizens get absolutely no say in what your ‘powers’ are or whether this even happens? Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, New World Order.”
And then I remembered something that calmed me down a lot. Organizations like the UN and the WHO are, and have ALWAYS been, cynical gatherings of nation-states to spy on each other and make completely powerless proclamations praising or condemning each other’s actions, plus maybe creating “peacekeeping forces” of blue helmets to “help” African nations police their populations. But they don’t have any actual power beyond the extent to which those member nations choose to “recognize” their authority, which they never do unless it aligns with what they wanted to do anyway.
The UN constantly condemns China, Russia, even Israel for various pieces of domestic and foreign policy. Those nations STILL BELONG to the UN and continue to show up while completely disregarding these “official condemnations” and doing whatever they were going to do anyway. But every one of those nations has also joined in on UN-led struggle sessions “condemning” other member nations, who also do exactly what they were going to do anyway.
But this current pile of shit is about the WHO.
So, I thought about it a little bit. Let’s say there’s another pandemic (OMG HOW DID THIS HAPPEN) and a signatory nation decides later that it doesn’t want to do lockdowns, forced vaccines, or cosplay. Does the WHO having some vague overriding authority over all nations during pandemics mean it’s now empowered to “force” them to?
How?
Let’s get really imaginative here. Will the WHO raise a standing army or an armed police force that will enter noncompliant nations and, say, forcibly jab their citizens? Will signatory nations who got cold feet really, actually allow that? How many first world nations with stable if shitty governments and large standing militaries have cheerfully allowed foreign police forces to usurp their violence monopoly within their borders, EVER? What happens if WHO Jab Marines (trademark reserved) kill, say, a U.S. citizen in the discharge of their duties? What if, say, angry French farmers in the southern countryside lynch a WHO Jab Marine who tried to kill horses suspected of carrying COVID? Who has authority over those crimes?
Will, perhaps, signatory nations be expected to compel each other by force? Will nations go to war to save the lives of foreign nationals by killing them? Will they, more realistically, be expected to impose sanctions on noncompliant “vaccine hesitant” nations even if those sanctions fuck up their own supply chains or economies?
Do you think any nation that actually enjoys its sovereign power will do any of those things?
Short an actual, armed disestablishment of every national government by some huge, violent global entity seeking to directly supplant the governments of all sovereign states and having the military might to do so, no confederation of member nations has ever led to said member nations doing anything they weren’t already going to do anyway. It simply gives them sufficient cover to do so and a narrative by which they can condemn their rivals.
All this is to say that this doesn’t mean things aren’t bad, it just means they aren’t actually any worse than they were already and this isn’t as worth getting apocalyptically scared about as it seems.
If your country spent the past two years crushing dissent and using force against you to run its COVID policies, it did that without the WHO telling it to.
If your country didn’t, it’s not going to listen to the WHO telling it to, anyway.
All the institution of a “global pandemic authority” is going to accomplish is to provide a ready-made narrative and appeal to authority for states that want to engage in biofascism anyway. It isn’t going to make anyone biofascist that isn’t already.
You’re no better or worse off than you already were: it’s simply that next time the people who want to oppress you will appeal to the WHO Global Pandemic Authority instead of the authority of the CDC to justify their actions.
We still have the same problems we had before: get the people who did this and want to do it again out of power, punish the living fuck out of them like, as brutally as you can get away with, fix your democracies to prevent these people from seizing dictatorial power ever again, and next time, resist completely from day one.
Same exact thing we all understood we needed to do yesterday. Don’t lose any additional sleep here.
I agree that the WEF globofascist takeover is not assured, but we must remain vigilant. Those videos out of Shanghai were haunting. It would seem that seventy years of CCP oppression have broken the Chinese people's spirit. How do they not rise up? They are a cautionary tale against complacency. We should be frightened but not overwhelmed. The only force standing between the bad guys and their evil plans is us.
the problem as i see it is that governments will use the WHO as an excuse, they will say 'hey guys its not our fault, we have to follow the rules.' passing the buck while they have police enforce china style tyranny
