I agree that the WEF globofascist takeover is not assured, but we must remain vigilant. Those videos out of Shanghai were haunting. It would seem that seventy years of CCP oppression have broken the Chinese people's spirit. How do they not rise up? They are a cautionary tale against complacency. We should be frightened but not overwhelmed. The only force standing between the bad guys and their evil plans is us.
the problem as i see it is that governments will use the WHO as an excuse, they will say 'hey guys its not our fault, we have to follow the rules.' passing the buck while they have police enforce china style tyranny
This is the entire point of the article. WHO policy is simply evolving to offer states an appeal to authority: permission to do what they wanted to do anyway.
It was done with the CDC for two years now. Same shit.
No, it isn't. That's the point, so don't mistake it. No one is avoiding jurisdictional legalities. You can't violate the Constitution just because you belong to an international organization that says you can or should.
There are absolutely no provisions anywhere in our body of law for defying US law at the behest of any outside body.
It's only lockstep because the member nations want an excuse to be in lockstep to diffuse responsibility to their angry populates. It is not permission to violate one's own laws. At least not in the US.
If a nation declares a state of emergency to coincide with an international treaty, its because they're CHOOSING to.
I wish I could share your optimism, but the thing about all this that shocked even this old cynical cynic was how so many nation states DID cheerfully throw their own economies into major turmoil and damage, if not actual destruction.
They DID throw away their own well-crafted pandemic response procedures, to follow a 'lockdown' approach already well-known to be very, very wrong.
They DID, all across the world in lockstep, pluck mask mandates out their ass and enforce them.
They DID embrace the idea of 'vaccine passports' and clung to that way beyond the point it was obvious the vaccines could not stop transmission or infection.
I could go on and on (and on) but you get the point. The most shocking thing to me about this treaty is that so few people seem to realize, there already is one. Which is exactly WHY so many 'signed up' members of the WHO did indeed fall into lockstep with the WHO's demands.
The exact thing you're saying wouldn't happen, already IS happening right now and has been for 2 years - the only difference with the new treaty is it gives the WHO even MORE power than it ALREADY HAS.
The WHO is not some org' that just sits there giving it's opinion; it already has legal power over its members.
Then why didn't the WHO have consisting messaging throughout the pandemic, and why weren't nations like Sweden, who are in the UN and contributors to WHO, punished for their disobedience?
Why didn't UN peacekeeping forces roll in and hold people down with syringes?
I'm not optimistic. It just doesn't add all the way up.
Well this was their very first attempt at taking over the world via a pandemic, and much went wrong. They are learning from that, regrouping and coming back harder.
In the meantime the countries that saw the most resistance, like Canada, have enacted laws making such resistance illegal, while various other holes, legal, social, medical etc. have been or are being plugged.
Cementing the WHO's legal powers is just putting into writing what already seems to be the case, that countries are under their power. There will be even less wriggle room next time, and the various BA variants suggest it may not be some far-distant possibility, more like this time next year, or next month.
It’s not unusual for European countries to be lemmings together so one should not be surprised when they simultaneously jump off a cliff. Rest assured the next catastrophe, they will go the same way. These are not countries wired for innovation, independent thought, critical thinking, etc. They have a long history of being ruled. And a very class-oriented society that goes back generations.
If the US had actually led on Covid - bringing together public and private experts on all issues that Covid policy would touch - perhaps the Covid response would have been different. But instead we relied on our bloated, maniacal bureaucracies (CDC, HHS, etc.) who were more interested in power moves and image management than saving lives and solving complex issues. Now these same egotistical, nut-job bureaucrats want to bring us into the WHO because - in their vanity - they think they’re going to run it!
We really must clean it up here at home. At some point the rest of the world may catch on. And if they do not, well at least we’ll be in a place to help them put out the dumpster fire they created (think WW1, WW2, etc.)
We are already in WW3. Jus sayin. We have poisoned our military, wrecked our economy (most small businesses are gone), 60% of our population who got jabbed are dying at unheard of rates, blown out the dollar (both by inflation and deliberately removing this country from being the World's reserve currency) and are letting millions of illegals (mostly men of fighting age without good references as they are usually fleeing a crime in their own countries) into our country that we have to support with housing, food stamps, education, and health care...War has been declared on us, by our governments. That is the real war going on right now. So the WHO is just another stealth attack.
Clean it up at home? We have proof in every state needed that 2020 was stolen, financed by Zuckbucks, and we cannot even get the people who should be caring about this, even at the state level of republicans, to do ANYTHING except resist. Lawyers are being gone after if they dare.
You're right that this is not as consequential as it's being made out. I haven't read anyone else on Substack make this point. You write rhetorically, "Do you think any nation that actually enjoys its sovereign power will do any of those things?" So, does the U.S. "actually enjoy its sovereign power"?
I think so, yes. That it isn't using that power to the benefit of its citizens doesn't mean they don't enjoy exercising it to the benefit of whoever they DO give a shit about.
Guttermouth, please see my comment above. We are at war with our own government. Unless we prosecute and dissolve the 2020 steal, and we have the proof, nothing else we do will matter. Our politicians are corrupted or afraid of our Deep State. Do not look for hope here..we need to fight the fraud battle, or nothing else is of consequence.
Here's the thing. If elections are completely meaningless at this point, none of this discussion matters. We have no recourse against any governing body- national or international- short of revolution*.
* But I reject and categorically disavow all forms of political violence for any reason and you should, too.
Electins are NOT completely meaningless, and to allow one party to steal the election must be fought tooth and nail, but not with weapons but with proof and courts and getting to the election and monitoring it locally. There are people trying to prevent it, and people trying to bring the fraud to light. It is like pushing a boulder uphill, but all of us must get behind and support these people with $$ and our time. That is the most important thing right now, reversing a stolen election.
Well you've calmed me down a bit. But I have such fear that the next time (I realize any comments made to them are solely for them to say "we listened to everyone and they all agree" they will just take the old marketing approach "If you don't respond in 2 minutes, we will renew your subscription" trick. I.e., if you say no, it will become WORLD LAW. Or something akin.
Right, but "World Law" under whose authority? At the end of the day, this is still about your own national government exercising its power to fine, imprison, or do worse if you don't comply with public health/whatever mandates. Who enforces "world law"? First-world UN signatories aren't going to allow UN peacekeeping troops to override their own military and police forces on their own sovereign ground (especially since they contribute manpower to those peacekeeping forces.
We would have to see a worldwide, largely voluntary dissolution of national governments for something like the UN/WHO to actually police developed nations.
Yes, I've heard about the UN plane in Ottawa during the trucker protests. I am skeptical of the claims about it. They are not very parsimonious.
Worry about holding your own government to account by voting and by activism. If we get to a point where your votes and voice are meaningless, you've got more immediate problems than what the WHO is doing.
100% agree on the WHO. Red Herring. We do not need to waste our energies and resources battling the Great Oz. We need to focus on changing our communities and work upwards.
Wide ranging rant today! Glad to hear things are lookin' up for fathermouth. And that your neighbours are kind enough to mention that your cows are out - again - without being neighbourly enough to herd them 'home'. Into your mother's vegetable garden. (Short version of long story - 12 years old. Left pasture gate open. 14 yearlings absconded into neighbour's oats. Neighbour and his two adult sons returned them. Into mom's vegetable garden. Mother not pleased!) Love your comments on WHO. Assume you're working on a preliminary outline for a series of dystopian novels. Or a news story. Seem to be the same nowadays.
Oh yes, and behind them is the Bank for International Settlements. And While Trudeau showed us how he can illegally freeze your access to your funds, the BIS took big note of how Biden illegally stopped Putin's access to his funds and the Swift system. Trudeau showed us we have no freedom, and Biden just showed us how national sovereignty can be erased in a moment.
I worry about "unless it is aligned with what they wanted to do anyway." I also had to retrieve six horses, or two cows, who never wanted to stay home. Principal at my grade school once told us to "take your God damn menagerie home." I was only an eighth grader, nice guy.
I think that's the thing with working with animals (of any size): a sane person is not angry at the animal for following it's nature. (Might be angry for the consequences, but not directed at the aninaml as such - don't want foxes in the henhouse? Build a better henhouse, kind of.)
Working with people is a different matter, is it not? People can it is allegedly think, after all. Cue every ER doc or nurse, or teacher or police: "So what was your thinking when you did /that/?!" Small wonder that some starts thinking more control is the answer.
And if working with machines, formulas or language? Well, you quickly adopt a Frankensteinian approach to life: it is to be vivisected, disected, deconstructed and put tigether according to your theories and ideals.
Maybe school from age 10 to 14 should be spent farming and learning crafts instead?
Well, I spent some time and read this over twice. You make sense! There’s no way Russia or a US republican pres would let the WHO dictate pandemic response. It’s all feel good smoke and mirrors - dream on….
Don't forget, though, that the WHO/WEF provide cover for the people that DO want this kind of control. It's up to citizens to challenge governments that break the laws of the nation with their pandemic response. (So, you know, in the case of China... good night and good luck.)
No, the Biden admin will sign. Watch. Quietly. And the Republican's will not be able to do a damn thing about it, or even mount a defense. We are in a war, and we have lost every battle so far.
I agree that the WEF globofascist takeover is not assured, but we must remain vigilant. Those videos out of Shanghai were haunting. It would seem that seventy years of CCP oppression have broken the Chinese people's spirit. How do they not rise up? They are a cautionary tale against complacency. The WEF is a whole other story. I've got different thinking there. There's almost certainly some cross-pollination, but it's not quite the same issue.
China horrifies me, of course. But to an extent, every society gets the government it deserves.
the problem as i see it is that governments will use the WHO as an excuse, they will say 'hey guys its not our fault, we have to follow the rules.' passing the buck while they have police enforce china style tyranny
This is the entire point of the article. WHO policy is simply evolving to offer states an appeal to authority: permission to do what they wanted to do anyway.
It was done with the CDC for two years now. Same shit.
its tightening the noose tho, lockstepping every country to the same regime, its a big escalation whilst avoiding jurisdictional legalities
No, it isn't. That's the point, so don't mistake it. No one is avoiding jurisdictional legalities. You can't violate the Constitution just because you belong to an international organization that says you can or should.

The moving finger writes, and having writ..(I was memorizing the Rubiyat)...
moves on...
I thought you were quoting Sheldon Cooper. 😉😋🤣 (The Big Bang Theory <--- Just in case you didn't know.)

As for what army, that would be the United Nations army, which the WHO is part of: https://peacekeeping.un.org/en/military

Sounds like we'll find out soon enough, then.

"Tis the end of the damned world....
What are the roots that clutch, what branches grow
Out of this stony rubbish? Son of man,
You cannot say, or guess, for you know only
A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,
And the dry stone no sound of water. Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
(Come in under the shadow of this red rock),
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
Who?
T.S. Eliot.

aaaahhh, thank you!
I memorized it in high school because I was (lol, "was") a spectacular English nerd. It's one of my very favorites ever.

Wow, that was some spicy revenge there!
the development and rollout of the all-in-one Global Digital ID
and Central Bank Digital Currencies
makes all of the sovereignty issues moot
individuals and by extension groups
can simply be denied transactional access and permissions of every type
effectively depersoning whomever is non-compliant
WHO is actively developing this ID platform (as a 'trusted health travel' document)
and coordinating with governments to see it employed
THAT'S ITS imminent danger to freedom and sovereignty
Oh yes, and behind them is the Bank for International Settlements. Yeah, I worry about "aligned with what they wanted to do anyway." But if it is what they want to do, they don't need an all-powerful WHO'S permission.
I'm not feeling generous, after all, the animals were in the school yard, not his yard. Trust me, he was a jerk. The neighbors I have empathy with.
I meant its hard to be mad at the animals when they get out and act silly.
Teach was a dick.
Yes, thank you for clarifying. You made me laugh.
Mission accomplished. 😊
